Final Blog Post

Wow, so its come down to this... I can for sure without a doubt say this was my favorite year for both band and P.E. This year when I reflect back upon it, was all about me finding myself. Throughout this year I slowly but surely improved my fitness level and my communication skills. At the beginning of this school year I had one plan which was to not be that shy and awkward grade 10, but to break the ice and introduce myself to new people and really put myself out there! And I did, by singing all about the base in some corny joke...

Participation: 21/25
(Ability to participate and the quality of participation of in-class activities.)

Attendance and Punctuality: 3/5

I am always on time to class, and am prepared. I have a fairly good attendance; if I am away,I usually have a good reason. You know that time i went to india...

Wearing Gym Strip: 4/5
K so here, umm, its not that i didn't have my gym strip away ALL THE TIME but yea sure, i forgot it a handfull of times but definatley not a lot. I can probably count how many times i didn't bring a gym strip on one hand, maybe two.

Physical Presence/Intensity Level During Games: 4.5
/5
One thing I didnt do is, stand in one spot, i tried to keep my body moving as much as possible and always during fitness and stuff tried to pace myself. For example when we did that group run where we had the 2 mins run 1 min walk during that exercise my group was not going as quick as my pace so in order to stay with the group and stay jogging, i came up with this wierd high knees calf buster running technique!
Skill Level in Various Games: 4.5/5
I would like to think im actually decent in a lot of games that we played, for example during speed ball this year i scored A LOT more goals then i would have last year which shows improvement.
Motivation behind your selection of activities on choice days: 5/5

I love having choice days because these are the days i get to try something new,  I am always down to try a new game. Sometimes when there arent any "new" games that i can play, I see how many people would be down to play a different game like ultimate, football or whatever. I try to involve everyone in the decision making process.

Social Responsibility: 22.5/25
(Factors that led to improving skills around working with peers to make everyone's experiences more successful.)

Leadership: 4.5/5

I would like to consider myself to be a good leader, When i talk to get people attention i use a confident and loudish voice. I was a good leader (or so i think) during buddies, especially on lacrosse days. So weather its Buddies or Truth or Dare, i can be a good leader and get the group to listen to me or someone else basically get their attention.

Initiative: 5/5

At the begning or the end of an activity i am there to help anyone that needs help. Several times during this year i got stuff out and to the equipment room thing. Again this is not really something my Grade 9 self would do.

Positive Energy and Social Dynamic During Activities: 5/5

K so in this section i feel proud of myself because i ALWAYS bring a positive, hype and good attitude which does nothing but help others and put a smile on someone elses face. I try to involve anyone i see just standing there. For example, a cheer during buddies.

Honesty During Competition and Fitness Scores: 5/5

"Honesty is one of the best qualities someone can have in them. Cheating in games or not following the rules in games does no good for you, or others. It ruins it for everyone and decreases the positive energy. This makes it hard for everyone else as well, discouraging everyone."- Simran. All i can say to that is PREACH! As stated earlier this yaer was about finding myself, and one thing I did to improve MYSELF is stay true to me because i realized if you lie about what you got as a fitness score, who the hell cares? I stayed true to myslef because i realized i was only going to lie to myself and in doing so i saw some major improvements in my fitness scores.

Connections with the Community/Volunteering: 3/5

I really wish i had more in this category because I didnt really volunteer at all this year. One thing I did do however is meet new people who are regularly involved in the community and picked up a lot of garbage every time i saw some on the floor. Aside from that nothing much else really. On the bright side I really did pick up A LOT of litter.

Healthy Living: 24/25
(Aspects of your past, current, and future detained goals on health and fitness)

Noteworthy Changes in Fitness: 5/5
This was a year of many changes for me. Throughout this year i saw many positive changes in myself. For example the Grade 9 me would have said something like "i tried hard during fitness and got to my goal" but this year i want to say yes i got to my goal but what was my goal? It's a simple one. really. Its to just do good. Altough that is a very vague statement, i like it that way. It dosnt set a limit on what i can do which inspires me to keep doing better!

Some of the barriers/limitations you face in participating: 5/5
Confidence, man that was a major part of me bieng a wierdo in grade 9, this year i had a different outlook on life and that worked out in my favour, all i can really say is i am happy as to where i have come!

Dietary Choices and Extra Curricular Activity Choices and Their Impact on Overall Health: 4.5/5
Before my trip to india i was on this water and milk diet only where the only liquids i would have are water and milk and i switched out a lot of unhealthy stuff that i noticed i was eating and forced a lot of work upon my mom :) I am lucky to have such a mom becuase she always made me the healthy stuff i wanted! After coming form india and getting caught up in the whole catching up phase and on top of that my mom had a surgery I kinda left that diet. dont get me wrong i still eat healthy but i had pizza and some other junk which i shouldn't have, but it was nothing too big!

Injury Prevention. Management,  and Rehabilitation and Future Plans/goals of Health Choices:  4.5/5

In order to prevent injuries i do my streches before playing and if im not feeling good i take a break My future plan would just be to be careful and if i ever do get injured seek help right away!

Digital Portfolio and Reflective Skills: 15/25
(Aspects of Blog Posts)

Total Collection of Digital Evidence and Number of Posts: 1/5

In total, I have only 16 posts.I am not sure why but i really really slacked of in this area.
Quality of the Selection of Evidence as a Demonstration of Learning: 3/5

I have a decent veriety of blog posts but i lack evidence and posts about my homw life.

The Quality of the Summaries/Explanations of the Evidence (with reflection of effort, new learning cited, research included and future goals/plans set): 3/5

I write detailed posts and always try to inculde how i felt during it and what the learning outcome was.

The Usefulness of Comments on Peers Blogs Entries as a Part of Socially Constructed Learning and Assessment: 3.5/5

I feel i have commented enough on peoples blogs.  I usually give them a thing they can improve on as well as a thing they did good on!
Ability to Synthesize Entries into a Summative Final Post Which Provides Evidence for Learning: 4.5/5

I think i am doing fine becase in this post i was able to provide examples for  a lot of which i have blogs ready to be read. Overall my blog game this year just wasnt on par this this is where i lacked the most.

What i should get in pe...? I added this up and it equals 82% so yea.
As for this year, thank's a lot mr.neuf truley the best year yet!

P.S. thanks to simrians blog post of which i took inspiration!

Ultimate

we played ultimate and it was really fun and intense!

Final Buddies Day

Today was the final day for buddies. During our last class we got to know them a little more. Some questions i asked my buddy were; Are you excited for grade 5?, why dont you show me ariund the class?, e.t.c.

About halfway through the event, my buddy presented me with a card that he made, i was really pleased to read that he enjoyed all the activities we did with him.

In conclusion in the entire buddies program i learnt how to become a leader among smaller children. I definatley benefited a lot through this program because it also taught me how to be a quick thinker and improvise, or come up with an entirely new idea/game if the previous was too boring or whatever!

I enjoyed watching people fall while doing them lmao! I learend more dance steps too! For people that had a hard time doing it i helped em out for example Joel. he had a tough time doing erryting and i helped him out! Look dorward to dance next year too!

Paintball!!! Sat april 18th

So today we went paintball for my late b-day party!! This was my first time going and I had a lot of fun! By the end of the day we were all tired and exhausted and we went for a swim at my place later!

April 13 2015 fitness

Today we did this new type of fitness it was really quite fuN!!!! My team consisted of conner and these 2 other kids whom I cannot remember the names of! In total I ran 4 times around the field! The 1st 2nd and 3rd time I didn’t record on my phone cause im an idiot and compelty forgot about it but in the last lap (the one i tried the hardest in!) I got a time of 1 min and 10 seconds which for me wasn’t half bad considering abi’s time was 1 min!! Forr the stretches I did some random stretches that I knew but for the muscle work I did, a plank, sit ups and squats!! Overall this was probably one of my better fitness days because I did wayyy better on this day then I did before on any other!

4/20 yolo swag blog

Today for P.E. we had to organize a game of baseball with small teams. In our game we had 10 people. The point of today was that we (the grade 10's) should be able to lead and organize a baseball game in which the grade 10's can leave in teh middle becuase of the workBC presentation. As instructed we did just that! Abhishiek and I both as co-leaders organized a game which was a modified verson of baseball with no teams and 1 batter vs. everyone. What I/We did good was have authoritative, just and positve attitude!!! I feel i did a good job leading today and made sure evryone else played and modified the game as it went for people who couldent keep up. for example AMRIT'S had was supposedly "hurting" so we made him pitch and give him the oppertuinty to particpate. And also for people who wernt superb with hitting the ball with the baseballbat we hat a cricket bat to make things easier!

Sunday, 12 April 2015

Alrighty so today we did this interesting game of dragon tails? And a disco ball!?!!? This game was really amusing and we had a lot of fun (as always). What I really liked about this game the fact that at the beginning of each round both teams could communicate and strategize their game plan.. Even though we lost our bragging rights to the other class we still had a great time, plus I think they cheated. Idk how but they prolly cheated. At the end of the class we did FATNESS!!! I did really good sprinting the 3 laps and I raced Nicholas in the first one and WON!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, 25 March 2015

Today we played a brand new game, chariots. This game was by far on my top 3 list for most fun game! This game was introduced to us by John! My team was at first when I heard about this game I wasn’t too interested but I didn’t let that bring my mood and cheerfulness down a tad! When we played the first game (which in my opinion was the MOST fun one out of the 3) we had a full contact free for all brawl thing going on and my team and I destroyed all the other teams!!!!!!!!!! The second game we played it was no contact however our team (being the gods that we are) won again! (or im pree sure we won that won!??!?!). The 3rd game was where we had to blind fold 2 horses! Luckley I was the horse that wasent blinded and that game wasn’t as fun but it was still hella good!! During this activity we learned to communicate a lot more then we used to in an average gym class! As usual I came in on time wearing my gym strip and had my game face on! During this game we had all got a turn to be a leader and everyone did a great job! GG

Saturday, 28 March 2015 Buddies!!!

Ok so today we had buddies in the kabaddi field and it was HELLA fun. Unlike most other people in our class this was the first time I met my buddy. We played chariots with a hula hoop this time and it was crazy fun because our buddies were all over the place at the beginning but later on we started to communicate and that totally made things easier. In terms of our buddies listening to us, they totally nailed it because we were communicating and strategizing a lot! I came in with a positive attitude and was totally willing to partake in any activity! I had my gym strip and was just a little late (thanks to someone in the same class…). This entire experience was a whole lotta fun! And I am looking forward to meet my super chill buddy again!

Mid Term Reflection!

During PE this year, how have you shown you are prepared and willing to participate
in a variety of activities?  On what days have you participated to your best effort and
why?  What days have been a struggle for you and why?

How do you contribute to the overall success of the class?  What kind of attitude do
you bring and why?  How do you interact with other students in our class?

Describe your participation during fitness days - have you been able to push yourself
physically?  What types of fitness activities do you enjoy the most?  What fitness
goals do you have for the rest of the year?

What does "leadership" mean to you?  Who are the best leaders in our class - why?

What improvements would you like to make in PE by the end of the year?  What are
you the most proud of so far?

During PE this year I have showed my preparedness and willingness to participate in a large variety of activities by, showing up wearing gym strip all the time there was only 1 time so far this year i didn't wear my gym strip. I had a different view on PE this year, I chose to look at all the activities- specifically fitness- with a different optimistic point of view. Instead of looking at fitness with the thought of being too tired after or during it, I looked at it as a workout which will help my body improve. At the beginning I was keen on doing fitness to my best effort and I failed and gave up a few times, but looking at me now the most recent fitness we had (yesterday Jan 27) i went HAM!

I make sure to let everyone have a chance f in everything we are doing, for example during foot ball some people never got to run to catch the ball so I helped make minor changes in order to get everyone to participate in all activities from QB to Receiver. I have always since grade 9 brought an upbeat and positive mood and attitude.

At the beginning I wasn't able to push myself not sure why but the point is i wasn't. Now however the best example would be the previous 3 fitness's i was able to push myself to nearly the point of vomiting (EW!). I love all the partner activities during fitness, my fitness goal for the end of the year is not only to get an "A" grade but to also get fitter in my day to day life and i have seen a a lot of improvement in my activity levels.

A leader is someone who is assertive and somewhat intimidating also someone who can get the point across with enough authority and make it quick (not in a scary fashion). The best leaders in our class are probably Shiraz and Zauq, of course none of them in my opinion meet ALL of MY leading standards they are the 2 that meet the most.

I would definitely like to improve my blogging, I had a rough start to blogging this year (no excuses) but I for sure without a doubt will improve my blogging and starting now will start to blog at a constant pace. I am most proud of going to the gym 4 days a week and jogging 4 days a week at 6 a.m.! It really has improved my cardio!

During the interview we had i asked for a C+ however Mr.Neaufield was willing to give me a B. I think my letter grade should be a B(78%-80%)!
